Accepting Change

So last weekend marked 2 weeks since we moved to CR.  There are several things that are just different here.  First of all the primary language is Spanish so that is something that we are going to have to adjust to.  Also, they do not have addresses here…. which can be a problem when trying to send and receive mail.

The kids have been talking about wanting to see the Incredibles 2 movie for months and were worried about not being able to see it in English.  It took us a couple of tries at multiple movie theaters but we finally found it in English with subtitles.  This was the best picture I could get.  IMG_9392This is at the local post office or correos de Costa Rica.  We needed to mail Father’s Day cards.  Communication was difficult so we hope that we did it correctly.  It costs over $5 to send 3 letters (we had to hand make cards because finding Father’s Day cards in English was tough.) As far as we know the grandfathers have still not received them……IMG_9323IMG_9322IMG_9328This last picture is for my mother-in-law. She loves Dr. Pepper and it is not something that is very available here.  Restaurants don’t serve it and as you can see there is only one lone bottle at the grocery store.  Luckily, I don’t drink cokes but I am having to get used to not having my favorite beverage, La Croix.  At home, I could get an 8 pack for $3.  Here, they only sell them individually and they are 750 colones, which is about $1.50 each.

  1. I think that last picture is the saddest I’ve seen on here, I’m with your MIL, I gotta have Dr Pepper!
